Wellness and Spa Service Quality Management

The general objective of the course is to support learning contemporary knowledge and skills to understand and use the quality management concepts, principles, models, programmes, techniques and tools as drivers of sustainable business, success of wellness and spa business, and service quality improvement.
Students will develop their quality- and service-oriented thinking, attitudes and skills of critical thinking, analysing and abilities to work with the quality-related theoretical sources.

Mida koolitusel õpid?

Learners are expected to achieve the following outcomes upon of the subject.
Students will know and understand:
* quality management tools and techniques;
* quality awards in the world;
* quality certification and standards for spas /spa hotels (medical spa, spa, wellness spa)
* models and instruments, how to measure and assess the wellness and spa customer satisfaction;
and acquire the skills to:
* critically analyse different quality management aspects, and wellness and spa service quality aspects;
* substantiate the selection of the quality management, measurement and assessment methods, tools and techniques;
* compile an article about wellness and spa quality management.

Maht: 5 EAP - 24 h lectures, 8 h practical classes, 4 h seminars, 94 h independent work h

Subject will be completed with the final assessment that will comprise max 100 points of continuous assessment:
* Assignment 1 "Quality tools and techniques" - 15 points
* Assignment 2 "Compiling an article" - 30 points
* Assignment 3 "Analysis of spa quality management systems" - 30 points
* Assignment 4 "Reflection of Learning" - 25 points
